DirectionsFrom the South: Take Hwy. 99 North to the Plainsburg Road exit (about 7 miles north of Chowchilla, and 1 mile past the Harvey Pettit Road exit as you travel north). Follow Plainsburg Road into the town of Planada and turn right on Hwy. 140…
From the North: Take Hwy. 99 South to Merced, and take the turnoff for Hwy. 140 East (to Yosemite), this is the second Hwy. 140 exit… …then, from either direction: Travel east on Hwy. 140 about 25 miles, through Cathey’s Valley and up a steep hill. Just past Mt. Bullion Cutoff Road, look for a small building on the left side of the road. Meherana is 2 miles past this building, on the right side. About 100 feet before the Meherana entrance, on the right side, there is a blue “Adopt a Highway” sign. Slow down quickly when you see this sign and look for the Meherana entrance on your right. Prior to visiting Meherana, please send an email to: visits@meherana.org Once your visit is confirmed, arrangements will be made for one of our volunteers to meet you on your arrival at Meherana.
